Most of the hospitals are inclined to use mobile apps as a marketing tool. However we see a huge potential for mobile app in the daily functioning of the hospital mainly in the patient engagement. The front desk operations can be seamlessly integrated with their mobile applications which will lead to improved operational efficiency and reduced working cost as some part of the patient interaction like appointment booking, cancellation, rescheduling report request and report collection can be automated. With well-designed and secured HIS (Hospital Information System) integration all such activities can be effectively automated using API/web services irrespective of the platforms used by each system. A well planned and executed integration of hospital management system (HMS) with the mobile apps can play a pivotal role in the patient satisfaction as this solution at the same time can act an enabler and an additional convenience to the end users of hospitals.
